I Can't Listen to a Business Growth Podcast (or Read a Business-Related Book) at Night. I'm a Copywriter and I Do This Instead.
Can I tell you something I don't often share with people outside my inner circle?
I think I'm gonna go for it...
Err β I'm a bit of an interrogation junkie. π«£
I value work-life balance.
At the end of the day I...
βοΈ clear off my desk
βοΈ turn off the lights in the office
βοΈ and shift into dinner mode
After dinner I just can't with anything entrepreneurial.
I can't listen to a podcast at night about business growth or read a business book.
I have to drop the pursuit in the evenings so I can rest my brain and body.
Listening to business growth content at night makes me want to RUN back to my desk and take immediate action. πββοΈ
So what do I do?
Well after everyone's tended to ya girl watches interrogations.
It's the psychology of both parties that intrigues me. π§ β‘οΈ
You've got one party that's trying to get a potential criminal to talk and reveal unknown details + information.
You have another party that's trying to walk out of that interrogation room (innocent or not).
It. just. fascinates. me.
And actually, maybe it has made me a sharper parent.
'Cause when I'm tryin' to get a confession outta somebody small in my house I know exactly what to say and how to say it. π
Hilariously so many of my interests lead back to copywriting. βπ½
How do you know what to say and how to say it (ethically and honestly) to point toward a win-win result for both you and your reader? (No cringe, just honest communication).
Well, it all starts with a real person and a psych profile β‘οΈ β‘οΈ β‘οΈ.
πΈ Your ideal client/customer has a financial reality. What is it?
Ex: a 10-20k business investment is normal.
π Your ideal client/customer has goals. What are they?
Ex: dream beach property, signature offer does multi-six figures per year alone.
π¬ Your ideal client/customer has challenges. What are they?
Ex: troubled on and off by the feeling that she should be there by now. She's been at this for a number of years after all.
π Your ideal client/customer just bought something. What is it?
Ex: new at-home gym equipment, legal contracts for business, new hiking shoes, and initial consultation with an interior designer.
Your ideal client/customer has preferences and values. What are they?
This is the foundational work that helps you sell your heart-felt offers to the perfect-fit people in feel-good way on repeat at max potential.
And if you haven't tuned into the psych profile of your ideal customer in a bit...
Why not take this as a sign that it's time to revisit this important aspect of your business? π
Have a gorgeous weekend and talk soon!
